Has anyone seen the is remake version using the old UK themes? It does seem to iron out some of the issues, well the intro anyways.

There was one puzzle tonight where the contestant bought so many vowels the entire answer was spelt out
Also in a Supermarket themed ‘toss up’ or whatever it’s called we had “Clean Up in Aisle Four” which isn’t even a British phrase, I’ve only ever heard it in American films

One contestant guessed on the Food & Drink category "Original Lays Chips", with Lays being the American version of Walkers.

Yeah, or in cartoons. I remember Apu in The Simpsons saying "clean up in all the aisles" once.

I think a familar enough saying - makes more sense than "Email Inbox".
See the minimum jackpot on the wheel has dropped to £10k too having been £15k in week one.

We had “Bridezilla on the rampage” earlier.
Do you think Sony have been very strict and forced our version to have these ridiculous phrases or do you think Whisper North being pretty small and new had no clout or inclination to force any changes.
Of course it’ll probably work out badly for both Sony and Whisper North as if they’d smoothed out some of the Americanisms, there would have been more chance of a second series.

Do wonder if every puzzle has been lifted from the US version.

I know we'd commented on how Americanised the show is, but some of those puzzles really do take the cake.

Having wondered previously if certain decisions had been made so that viewers in the UK who like this version would watch the US version, is it also the case that Sony want to flog our version to US viewers? Judging by comments on YouTube, there seems to be people in the US who will watch it because the show is Americanized and stuff like the theme tune doesn't bother them.

I doubt Sony care about flogging an 8 episode UK series to a US audience when they get paid millions to produce the 200 odd new episodes a year for the syndicated version.
I also doubt any of these criticisms will be taken on board for it's second series - even though ratings have dropped I've no doubt it'll come back, and I suspect they'll see the solution to any ratings drop as being more celebrity episodes. Looks like they're saving those (2 out of the 8 are celeb episodes) for the end of the series.
