Who blocked the camera shots? It looks great. Yes we are happy for an actual view instead of the corridor...yadda yadda. I hope they arent finished! Come on guys. It seems there were halfway there and they stopped. Its all a bit frustrating. Because its almost there. ALMOST. Its like getting right to the finish line and they stopped. Grrr. I remember when I mentioned how drab the new newsroom (Stark white walls and zero branding, it looked a securities trading floor) was and it needed to be dressed for broadcast (maybe with just a logo or just painting one of the columns or some uplighting as a feature) and some didnt like that post. Yet here we are. Interesting. Its Tv folks...its tv.
Well done guys. Please finish it. Needs a little bit more help.
It does seem to be moving in the right direction, but I agree that it seems they may have starting using it before it’s finished… or is it just a temporary setup while other changes are made, perhaps to the glass box?
That column, with the awards does need something. LED panels like in Westminster would be perfect.

They seem to be the only ones making investments, improvements and positive changes right now. Just look at BBC News and CNN with all the cost-cutting and awful presentation.

Nonsense. Do the new studios need tweaking? Yes. But that doesn't take away from the fact that they have made a huge investment in the channel over the past few months.
The newsroom studio at Millbank with the new cameras, peds, lighting rig, desk, LED screens and general infrastructure is a £250,000 project at the very minimum. The refurbishment of the main Millbank studio could easily end up costing £1,000,000 if it includes an screen upgrade.
3 prime time shows presented by 3 different presenters in 3 different studios costs a fortune. Each show requires its own team. There's also a new podcast studio, too.

Unless there's been a radical and unnecessary change in working practices at Sky, it's not as big a spend as all that.
Stand alone shows require presenters, producers and some extra production journalists for each, but the facilities are all shared and the biggest expense - production control/gallery/ingest - is centralised and shares staff
With two major elections planned for this year I'd expect the Millbank upgrade is fundamentally for that purpose rather than the Kay show etc. Changing a desk and floor covering refresh in their only 4 wall production studio is hardly unusual or bank breaking; the a screens are the same, the news managers have just chosen to listen to the in-house Sky PS designers for show visuals that work better on the same LCD walls.
If only Sky management understood the value in the "wrapping" of each show and branding for TV, and did more with the furniture of TV - promos, themes etc they'd be almost on track.

Interesting appointment! Always a fan of Matt in his various presenting gigs, so a good experienced addition to the roster!

Yet more "under-investment", eh?

Was Belle just doing Fridays or was she on Saturday/Sunday too?
Belle is still listed as a presenter online and Matt has now been added, presenters like Vanessa Baffoe, Leah Boleto and Sam Naz aren’t listed online.

Friday afternoons were Belle's only regular slot, she did cover the Press Preview on Sunday a few times, but that was about it.
