A glimmer of hope for the Commonwealth Games on Commonwealth Day with reports that Kuala Lumpur could be drafted in to host the 2026 edition, with no concrete interest from Australia or the UK.
It's before my time, but I understand the last time Malaysia hosted in 1998 is viewed as a success. Only once since has it been hosted outisde of the UK and Australia.

Yep, do remember the Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games, as the lunchtime Neighbours was moved to odd timeslots like 11.55am and 3pm in order to carry Olympic Grandstand.

Very odd for them to schedule the Commonwealth Games at the same time as an Olympics.

I think the poster meant to say "Commonwealth Games Grandstand"

SportyStuff, a mostly obscure free-to-air sports channel in the uk, is shutting down end of this month. It hasn’t really been showing anything other than Greyhound betting for a while now, although dabbled a bit with snooker for Jason Francis’ Snooker 900 tournament. If it showed anything else, it’s news to me as i’d basically never heard of it until the Snooker 900 stuff started:

Yep, meant to say Commonwealth Games Grandstand instead of Olympic Grandstand.
But yep, Commonwealth Games Grandstand played havoc with the lunchtime Neighbours screenings, where it had odd timings. (11.55am, 3.00pm, 2.30pm)
Breakers, the new Aussie soap which had just started, would air only once a day in the morning at points due to the Kuala Lumpur Games or not air at all.
One repeat screening of Breakers on 18th September 1998 was aired at 2.55pm and was the lead in to Playdays.

Sporty stuff showed some motorsport highlights, along with modus series darts, and then some memorabilia sales.

Current suggestions are that Ayozat are acquiring the 'assets', and moving everything there. I know that SiS were apparently interested in a full takeover to go more in on the betting adjacent content (the Modus and Greyhound stuff), but it appears that's no longer on the table. Certainly there's been some staff movements in that direction in recent times.

A set of articles on the production of the Six Nations.
AE's contract as the graphics provider is until 2025, so expect the ancient graphics set to continue for another year after this one.
ITV are hosting five of eight away matches from pitchside rather than Ealing this year. Apparently Mark Pougatch's mother-in-law believed he was in Paris during the RWC rather than Ealing, I wouldn't echo her belief.
ITV have 125 onsite personnel for Twickenham games, where they are the host broadcaster. BBC (Wales, Scotland), France TV and Sky Italia are the other host broadcasters. I read it as RTÉ produce the match feed for all games from Dublin, despite them not necessarily broadcasting them (Dublin and Rome were previously by a third party during the previous rights cycle IIRC?).
