French TV - News Discussion

In what can be seen as a response to the launch of TF1's Bonjour !, BFMTV is expanding it's lifestyle chroniques starting from January:
- Charlotte Méritan for the chronique conso
- Johanna Rozenblum for psychology
- Margaux de Frouville for health
- Marie Coeurderoy for real estate
- unnamed so far for motoring

Planéte info on Franceinfo last went out on Monday. Pauline Forgue was covering for Lucie Chaumette. Tuesday and Wednesday saw them lose the slots for breaking news on the Senate passing a controversial immigration bill. Tonight was full of filler and a repeat of the 8.30 Franceinfo radio interview.

As announced previously Julie Hammett will be taking over Maxime Switek's weekday 22h/00h slot from January. We now know that it'll be called 'Julie jusqu’à minuit' (announced by Switek tonight on his last show). French TV fans will note how the name mirrors Galzi jusqu'a minuit which was on itele back before it became CNEWS (a show which sometimes beat BFMTV -- a massive rarity back then for itele).

Very surprised to see him back, I thought he had fully retired

With no 8.30 Franceinfo interview or the short edition of Les Informés, La Matinale was live on the half hour and looped at the top of the hour to pad out the time.

They still had a steady cam which allowed them to do the culture interview from the sofa area, but there was no political interview.

The Le fil info branded news bulletins are back on Franceinfo. It replaced the 19/20 bulletin as well with the first half hour a pre-record from 18h30 and then live from 19h30.

23h info continues, but is reduced to a 30 minute live bulletin and then looped for the final 30 minutes until the handover to France 24.

Garance Pardigon covered the final two weekend editions of Les Matins Week-end on LCI that Christophe Beaugrand presented.

Both Pardigon and Beaugrand are moving across to TF1's new breakfast show Bonjour in January, which makes me wonder if they'll cover (jockey) for Bruce Toussaint when he's away?

Closer (yes, that magazine) reports that Ruquier wanted to call it quits by the end of the year but that Fogiel managed to convince him to stay on till the end of the season. Needless to say, it's unlikely that he and his show will be here in September of next year.

After the Closer story, Ruquier has issued a statement in French.
