The theme and the new house has been revealed by CBS.

From what we have gleaned its a BIG BROTHER MULTIVERSE theme. Its 25th Anniversary season. They used 3 past houseguests to play out a badly directed/produced skit in which they are seeking redemption for their loss of the game. They use a "time-laser" (ugh...kill me) to fix the past and it all goes wrong, the laser backfires, and the house is time-warped and apparently this will have game repercussions throughout the season but also has altered the look of the house. The game, it has been revealed to be 100 days. The longest in CBS Big Brother History. It will have the most episodes (not counting season 1 which aired everynight and followed the old school version)

The clips seems to show the house (WHICH IS INCREDIBLY DARK THIS YEAR, WITH THE TERRIBLE, FLAT LIGHTING) split by a huge "time gap" and has a comic book gap in the middle. Aside from the split, the "normal" sections of the house theme is very muted this year and doesnt follow the normally wild over the top colour scheme. I dont like the dark blue corrugated metal walls. It makes it feel too warehouse-like for me. And it just adds to the dark-ness. And it seems the nature "windows" dont even seem like they go with the overall theme. Its just...again a hodgepodge, thrown together stuff. Strangely the living room features no shelves with loads of junk on them. Its just an ok house. But after 25 season they really need to rebuild this house, its been the same since season 6. We can hope CBS knocks it down, but its a cash cow, they dont care, never has. I again think the producer is terrible and its time to turn the show over for some fresh ideas and production values. Especially when you see other versions around the world, current producer FLYONTHEWALL which has been leading the show since 2000 hasnt really changed up the overall feel of the show. It still feel old. I hate that I love it.

If we get high quality stills i'll add them later.

I have looked online and not much comes up expect for Doctor who or Blue peter 60th Big Grin

Can anyone remember back to 1982 or 1983 to the BBC 60th Birthday or 60 years of Broadcasting.

Many TV companies around the world sent the  Special video birthday Greetings.

Can anyone remember who and how many TV companies did send in greetings?

Hard to believe, but the recent May bank holiday, was the 35th anniversary of the first ITV Telethon, a 27 hour extravaganza (term used loosely), to raise money for charity. There were three of them, 1990 and 1992 being the others, and these stemmed from the 1980 and 1985 London only Thames Telethon.

As a nine year old, I was quite excited about the first Telethon, in 1988, but the third one, which raised less money than the first, I wasn't as much into it by then, and was glad when the 1992 one ended, as International Rugby Union, Australia v New Zealand, followed it!

How hard was it to organise back in 1988, would ITV ever dare repeat it, and was 27 hours just too lnog? What if it had been 10 hours, like the 1980 Thames Telethon? And, any other thoughts?

Quote:BBC makes full set of HD channels available via new Freeview feature
A lucky few Freeview users will for the first time be able to access every regular BBC channel in HD via a new IP add-on to Freeview.

This includes BBC News HD, which was removed last year due to a reduction in capacity available to broadcasters after a decision to allocate more of the airwaves to 5G services.

An interesting development for restoring access to the news channel in HD, as well as making a HD version of BBC Parliament.

Here’s the press release, including confirmation that contrary to yesterdays report, TNT Sports won’t be available on discovery+ in Ireland. (Though let’s see if that changes down the road).

Hopefully I'm allowed to post this here. You may have noticed, if you've seen any of my whinging about streaming services leaving all of their content filmised even if it was originally aired in 50/60fps interlaced, that I'm awfully picky when it comes to frame rates.

For a long time, I've been digitising my DVDs and using Handbrake to deinterlace and transcode everything into 50fps progressive. Only recently, however, I've noticed an issue. I wish I noticed this years ago when I started doing this thing, but better late than never, I suppose.

It's only noticeable on something with constant motion, but my output file seems to be dropping/skipping frames and causing a juddery effect. I couldn't think of anywhere better to upload it, but I've attached a WeTransfer link that contains a few seconds of a Stanley Baxter special featuring a Nationwide graphic spinning around - we.tl . You'll hopefully notice that every half second or so, the spinning skips/judders. It's also very noticeable during any scrolling end credits, where it looks like the credits jump a couple of frames every half second or so.

I've tried both Decomb and Yadif with every combination of preset (except EEDI2 because I'll be dead by the time I finish encoding) as well as trying peak framerate and constant framerate, and changing the overall quality of the video. I've also tried using Same as Source for framerate and that just gives me a 25fps output. I've also tried to Google this issue with all sorts of different wordings and can't seem to find a solid solution.

I don't suppose anybody here might be able to help me please?
